We will achieve status of world leader, but won't produce Hitler: Mohan Bhagwat

We will achieve status of world leader, but won't produce Hitler: Mohan Bhagwat

Pune: In an apparent rejoinder to the criticism that Hindu nationalism is akin to fascism, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said India is bound to become a great country, but, in the process, no Hitler would arise.
Speaking at the inauguration of a Vaidik School in Dehu, the birthplace of Saint Tukaram, 35 km from Pune, Bhagwat said, "India is among the few ancient nations of the world and as we are ancient, we are like elder brother to the rest of the world. With the rich legacy of spirituality and guidance of great saints, we will achieve the status of world leader."
"India is bound to become a big and great nation. However, in this process of becoming big, no Hitler will be born," he said.
"Buddha will be born, Shankaracharya will be born and saints will be born," he said.
"We have all the resources and what we need is devoted people and society to achieve the greatness," the RSS chief said.
"In the past, our people went as far as Siberia and Mexico, but we never usurped their land forcefully. Instead, we spread knowledge in the form of yoga, ayurveda, mathematics and science," he said.
A large number of people, including spiritual leaders and warkaris (a religious sect) attended the inauguration ceremony. Chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' were raised throughout the ceremony.

India vs Pak: Impressive records, gripping history & other T20Is statistics

India vs Pak: Impressive records, gripping history & other T20Is statistics

The highly-awaited 2016 ICC World T20 clash will witness India and Pakistan renewing one of cricket's fiercest rivalries when they take the field at Eden Gardens in what promises to a pulsating encounter on 19 March.
Despite enjoying more success than their arch-rivals in the shortest version of the game, the Indian cricket team will have their backs against the wall when they lock horns with Pakistan tomorrow. The crushing defeat against New Zealand in the tournament opener has already affected India's campaign, while a defeat against Pakistan could send them packing.
On the other hand, Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan made a strong statement in their opening game against Bangladesh where their much-criticised batting sealed a 55-run win. The Pakistani captain, who was also under fire, led by example with a 19-ball 49 and followed it up with the bowling figures of 2/27 in his side's comprehensive win.
India may be playing in their backyard but it's the Pakistani team who will be supremely confident especially at a ground where they have a clean 4-0 win-loss record in limited-overs cricket.
Given the circumstances, it is surely hard to pick a favourite between these two sides but the stage is perfectly set for an enthralling contest which is expected to be played to a full house.
Head-to-head in T20Is
Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have played seven T20Is in the short history of the format. MS Dhoni's men surely have an upper-hand, at least on paper, with five wins and a loss. Pakistan have surely been on the receiving end in the shortest format but the team has also won a T20I against India in Bengaluru on 25 December, 2012.
Also, the inaugural World T20 in 2007 witnessed the first-ever clash between these two cricket giants in the shortest format at Durban where the game was tied and later decided in the 'bowl out'. MS Dhoni's men came out on top with a 3-0 margin in the 'bowl out'.
Leading run-scorers
Virat Kohli is the most successful batsman when it comes to the T20Is played between India and Pakistan. In the four matches he has played, the Delhi southpaw has scored 150 runs at an average of 75.00 and a strike-rate of 119.
Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez is second in the list of leading run-getters during Indo-Pak T20I matches. The right-handed batsman has played five matches and amassed 147 runs at a strike-rate of 119 and an average of 29.40.
Gautam Gambhir (139 runs in 5 matches), Shoaib Malik (134 runs in 6 matches) and Yuvraj Singh (117 runs in 6 matches) are the other top-scorers in Indo-Pak T20 encounters.
Highest wicket-takers
Pakistan's Umar Gul is the undisputed champion when it comes to taking most wickets in the Indo-Pak T20 duels. The right-arm seamer has taken 11 wickets in just six matches to lead the pack of top wicket-takers.
Irfan Pathan is second on the list with his tally of six wickets in three games for India. Mohammad Asif (5 wickets in two matches), Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (5 wickets in three matches) and RP Singh (4 wickets in two matches) are the other players in the list.
Most sixes
Misbah-ul-Haq holds the record for most sixes in T20Is between India and Pakistan. The right-handed batsman has smashed five sixes and seven fours in the two T20Is he has played against India. Pakistan's Shoaib Malik is second on the list with four sixes and 11 fours in seven games.
India's run-machine Virat Kohli is placed third in the list of six-hitters with three maximums and a whopping 23 fours in five matches. Surprisingly, Pakistan seamer Sohail Tanvir holds the fourth spot for smashing two sixes in four T20 matches against India.
Team India discard Robin Uthappa is placed fifth with two sixes and five fours in the two T20Is he has played against Pakistan.
Key facts
India was involved in the only bowl-out in World T20 history, defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007
Pakistan's highest margin of victory by runs in T20Is came on December 30, 2010, when it posted 183 for 6 before bundling New Zealand out for 80, for a 103-run victory.
Along with Pakistan, India has registered the second most number of wins in World T20 history - 18.
When Umar Akmal isn't terrorising opposition bowlers, he is a mean fielder: his 34 catches puts him third on the all-time list for the format.
Yuvraj Singh is the only batsman to have hit six sixes in an over in World T20 and T20I cricket.
Pakistan has twice posted 191 against Australia at the World T20. The first time, in 2010, it lost the semifinal by three wickets thanks to a marauding Michael Hussey; in 2014, the bowlers held on to complete a 16-run win.
Suresh Raina is one of six players to have hit a century in World T20, in the 2010 edition against South Africa.
Pakistan has won 18 of the 30 ICC World T20 matches it has played.

Yo Yo Honey Singh: I must confess that I was bipolar and an alcoholic. It was scary!

Yo Yo Honey Singh: I must confess that I was bipolar and an alcoholic. It was scary!

He was at the perfect pitch of stardom. In the trance of super-success. He created any beat — desi or angrezi — and the nation rolled up their sleeves, pulled up their lungis and partied all night with abandon. More high on Honey, than any hard stuff. It was the reign of the Yo Yo Honey Singh brand of music. Nothing could shake him; nothing could stop the rhythm of his rising stardom. So we believed. But suddenly, there was an interlude in this opus. Like the silent beat that exists between two notes. All Yo Yo fans kept dancing, while he disappeared, silently. For nearly two years. Without a final bow. Tabloids made headlines with rumours of him being in rehab because of drug overdose. Then, there were stories of his supposed mighty fallout with Shah Rukh Khan during an international tour. But they were all stories. And Yo Yo turned away and went on a long mute mode. After 18 months, he performed at a music award show, recently, picking up the notes from where he left, grooving to Lungi dance once again. But the past two years still remained a mystery, until now, when he broke his silence in this bare-it-all chat. He looked introspective and calm, rarely making eye contact. Maybe it gave him courage to say what he was about to.

"This is the first time I am talking about it as I want my fans to know what happened to me. Nobody knows about this, and I wanted to tell the world myself, not through a spokesperson. The last 18 months were the darkest phase of my life, and I wasn't in a state to talk to anyone. I know there were rumours that I was in rehab (for drug overdose), but I was in my Noida house throughout. The truth is I was suffering from bipolar disorder. It went on for 18 months, during which I changed four doctors, the medication wasn't working on me and crazy things were happening," he said, pausing, but determined to reveal more. "I must confess that I was bipolar and an alcoholic, which aggravated the condition."

"It was scary. One year had passed and I wasn't responding to medicines, until a fourth doctor from Delhi treated me. At one point, I thought I would live in this darkness forever. I had cut myself off from everyone. I didn't come out of my room, forget stepping out of the house. I had a beard and I didn't get a haircut for months. For someone who has performed in front of a crowd of 20,000, I was scared of facing 4-5 people. That's what bipolar disorder does to you."

So did his music give him some peace, some solace, I curiously asked. He breaks into a smile and says, "In that phase, I wrote 50-60 poems. They are like khuli shayari, so I can't make them into songs. One night when I couldn't sleep in spite of popping sleeping pills, I wrote and composed a song called Rise and Shine, after seeing my mom break down. She is the only reason I am here today."

What did he fear the most? Losing all his stardom? "No, I didn't care about losing my stardom. I was scared about losing myself," he exclaims. Adding, "After the sun went down, I was scared of my own family. I wasn't behaving like myself. I was a sick person. I wasn't in my own control. But now it is all behind me and I've come out of it. I am under a doctor's supervision, and before doing this interview, I called and told him that I was going to tell the world about this. I think I'm not my own, or my parents' property. I belong to my fans who have made me. They needed to know, and this was the best time to talk about it. Today is also special as it's my birthday."

Yo Yo is upbeat about performing at the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) 2016 in Dubai, which will be held in partnership with Gulf Air and in association with Sanjay Ghodawat Group, on March 18. His fans will throng to watch him perform live in the city he calls his own. He excitedly says, "I have performed with Shah Rukh bhai and Jacqueline Fernandez in the past, but not with Salman bhai. So I am looking forward to interacting with him along with my performance, if he is in the audience."

Talking about SRK, what about his fallout with him, where apparently the actor slapped Yo Yo in rage. "Nothing like that ever happened. During my low phase, a lot of people visited my place, including Bhushanji (Kumar). I got calls from Shah Rukh bhai, too. Recently, I met him at a show and we were chatting about films and music. He is amazing, he's not just a great actor, but also a superb personality," he explains.

The mood was getting lighter. Sometimes, truth doesn't feel like honey drops, but once told, it's not that bitter either. Yo Yo had revealed all that he wanted to, and the most daunting part was behind him. Now, looking ahead we talk about how he will make up for lost time. "Luckily, four of my songs released even while I was ill, and they did so well. I am getting into the groove. I don't plan too much, just let it flow. Now, I want to work more on contemporary music, as I have done a lot of dance music. I am bringing back street hip-hop again. The whole music scene here is urban and international, as compared to 10 years ago when it was dominated by Bollywood music."

The lyrics of his songs have often been severely criticised. Will that see a change? He explains, "Every revolutionary poet or lyricist has been criticised for something. If you come up with something new, there will always be people who will object to it. We have to keep going and see what the masses are listening to. I don't care about the ratio of critics as they are in hundreds, but the fans are in millions. They are the ones who matter."

Quiz him about competition that hit a high note while he was in his low phase, and he nonchalantly brushes it off. "I don't consider anyone my competition. I am secure about my music. When some artistes give a hit song, they keep repeating themselves in the same genre. I always try to create something new. I started with Angrezi beat. Everyone wanted that, but I moved on to Lungi dance, then Party all night. I don't need to position myself, my fans will. They know the difference between a luxury car and an ordinary car," he said, breaking into a laugh for the first time in the conversation.

Yo Yo will also be seen acting in an intense Punjabi action-drama, though he is not really trained for this. "Acting is seriously tough; my Bollywood debut was also unplanned, but I enjoyed it. I am an entertainer, we have just one life and I want to try everything." So, will he ever pen down his life in a book? He quickly says, "I will publish the poems I wrote while I was battling my dark phase, and let the world know that side of my life. Some of my poems are hard to understand, but now when I read them I feel...sher bimaar ho, tab bhi sher hi hota hai."

It's time for Yo Yo to bring out a fresh array of his trademark sunglasses, maybe. After all, he is finally out of the darkness.

India test-fires Agni-I ballistic missile

India test-fires Agni-I ballistic missile

India today successfully test-fired its indigenously built nuclear-capable intermediate range Agni-I ballistic missile, capable of hitting a target 700 kms away, from a test range off Odisha coast as part of a user trial by the Army.
The surface-to-surface, single-stage missile, powered by solid propellants, was test-fired from a mobile launcher at 9.
15 AM from launch pad-4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Abdul Kalam Island (Wheeler Island), a defence official said.

The trial, which formed part of training exercise by the Strategic Forces Command of Indian Army, was fully successful, he said.

The sophisticated missile covered 700 km distance within 9 minutes and 36 seconds, they said.

"The launch was undertaken as a part of periodic training activity by SFC to further consolidate operational readiness," the official said.

The trajectory of the trial was tracked by a battery of sophisticated radars, telemetry observation stations, electro-optic instruments and naval ships from its launch till the missile hit the target area with accuracy, they said.

Agni-I missile is equipped with sophisticated navigation system which ensures it reaches the target with a high degree of accuracy and precision.

The missile, which has already been inducted into armed forces, has proved its excellent performance in terms of range, accuracy and lethality, the sources said.

Weighing 12 tonnes, the 15-metre-long Agni-I, is designed to carry a payload of more than one tonne. Its strike range can be extended by reducing the payload.

Agni-I was developed by Advanced Systems Laboratory, the premier missile development laboratory of DRDO in collaboration with Defence Research Development Laboratory and Research Centre Imarat and integrated by Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad.

The last trial of Agni-I, conducted on November 27, 2015 from the same base, was also successful.

The muscles of the mind

The muscles of the mind

By focusing or stressing on particular emotions of wishes, we end up making the 'muscles' stronger or weaker in the brain, says Dr SHRIRANG BAKHLE.
There are so many students in a class but only some of them have an intense determination to succeed in the exam. They will work long hours and they are willing to sacrifice many pleasures for the sake of success and they succeed!
What is the difference between them and the other students? How did they become like this?
We also know many simple people who develop depression or develop anxiety, or become anger-prone. All of us have seen normal people who gradually develop addictions. There are people who try to come out of their addictions. But some succeed while others don't. What is it that causes these good or bad changes in the people?
It all depends on the 'muscles' of the mind! 'Muscles' of the mind? Let us see what this means. All of us are born with a standard set of muscles. Some persons decide to exercise their muscles while some people do hard manual labour. This results in stronger and bigger muscles. On the other hand, if muscles are not used for a few weeks, they become weak and thin. For example, if you put your forearm in a plaster cast, within a few weeks the muscles become weak.
What about the 'muscles' of the mind? The mind is created in the brain. There are different brain circuits for different mind functions such as emotions and wishes. They are the equivalent of the body muscles. When we exercise these muscles, the circuits become stronger. They start responding more quickly and intensely. If you practice mathematics more, the circuits involved will become more efficient and they will respond more quickly and precisely.
It has been found that, sometimes, the brain part involved actually becomes bigger, just like the body's muscles. In a study of taxi drivers in London, it was found that they have a bigger Hippocampus, a part of the brain - as compared to normal people. This was simply because they used to this part more often. This phenomenon is called 'neuroplasticity'. It means that if we use those more often, the wiring circuits and cells actually become stronger. What's the use of this knowledge? It helps to understand the different examples given at the beginning of the article. Why some people develop intense determination? How normal people become depressed, anxious or anger-prone? Why some people develop addictions and how some people are able to overcome their addictions, while others are not?
The basic determining factor is how often you use a particular mind function. If a sportsperson thinks more often about excelling in the particular sport, the wish becomes stronger. Whereas, if she doesn't think more about 'wish to watch movies', that wish 'muscle' will become weaker!
This sportsperson is getting ready to go for practice and a friend calls saying, "let's go for a movie". Which wish will win, the 'wish to practise' or the 'wish to go to the movie'? The 'wish to practise' has more 'muscle', so it will win.
The development of addictions and the battle to come out of the addictions are a constant tug-of-war. This is true for the 'chemical' addictions (such as alcohol and nicotine addictions), but other addictions such as internet addiction or gambling addiction.
A non-addict person starts thinking more and more about the wish to indulge in the addiction. In effect, she is exercising that 'muscle' of the mind. Over a period of time, this wish becomes stronger and more intense as compared to other 'normal' wishes such as 'wish to maintain good health', 'wish to enjoy good relationships' and the 'wish to work'. Then, in the tug-of-war between the 'addiction wish' and the normal wishes, the addiction wish keeps winning and becomes stronger. Thus the person gets deeper into the addiction.
When a person wants to come out of addiction, she should make the normal wishes stronger by thinking about them more often and at the same time, make the addiction wish weaker by thinking less about it. If a wish is not recalled for a long time, it becomes weaker. Then the normal wishes start winning the tug-of-war and finally the person comes out of the addiction.
The same principle is applied for the 'emotion muscles' of the mind. If a person tries to remain happy for a long time, that brain circuit will become stronger. If she becomes angry or sad or fearful more often, those emotion centres will become stronger. By remembering and using this principle, we can make different wish or emotion 'muscles' stronger or weaker to our advantage.

Can the human mind ever live in the present moment?

Can the human mind ever live in the present moment?

Past impressions create roadblocks in our physical and metaphysical advancement, writes RAVI VALLURI.
Romance was in the air as India attained freedom from the British yoke. The period was 1950s as India embarked upon the socialistic pattern of to revive the country which inherited an impecunious economy.
Two bright students from Coastal Andhra landed in a rain washed Delhi University to pursue their dreams. They were moonstruck at the sight of Luytens Delhi, Connaught Circus and were of course treated to the customary ragging.
The strapping youngsters were apprehensive and anxious as to what the future bode for them and were simultaneously reminiscing about the sylvan grasslands of Andhra Pradesh.
In order to remain connected with their past, they made recurrent trips to the New Delhi Railway Station to receive students arriving in droves from their state and revive those nostalgic moments. Why it is repetitively said, "Those good old days!" In one stroke we send a signal to our Universe that the present is not congenial. The Universe in turn will resound with an antipathetic response. This is not conducive or healthy for the mind.
As Buddha says, 'The mind is everything. What you think you become.' If we live in the past we keep fretting and fuming about the missed opportunities and those past impressions create roadblocks in our physical and metaphysical advancement.
On completion of their studies, the more aspiring one stayed back and the less enterprising returned home. The person in Delhi
aspired to be a civil servant like his more illustrious siblings and their children. But destiny had carved out its own plan. His friends and acquaintances qualified for the coveted job, a sinecure that eluded him. So the mind became envious of his siblings, their children and friends and started implanting his failed mission upon his children much to their discomfiture. They were impelled to fulfil the dreams and passions of their covetous father.
Buddha further says.' Do not dwell in the past; do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.'
How does one reach that state of Present Moment? Before dwelling on some techniques, it will be gripping to read a fascinating Buddhist parable.
One afternoon a Buddhist monk was carrying a bucket filled with water in a dense forest. Suddenly he heard a rustle. It was a tiger, smacking its lips and intently looking at the potential prey. The monk ran for his life, with the tiger in pursuit. The monk reached a precipice and had a choice to make, either be devoured by the ferocious tiger or jump off the cliff. Death stared in his face. The monk jumped and fortuitously clung on to a branch of a strawberry tree. He ate the strawberry considering it to be his last meal and thoroughly relished it. The sweetness, the texture all were partaken with total concentration at ground zero. The monk had never had such a meal, as he was absolutely in the present moment.
A simple yet profound technique of Sadhana is to be a witness to all the actions and activity which take place. The actor in us becomes the spectator too. This is what is espoused in the esoteric philosophy of Ashtavakra Gita (a classic dialogue between King Janaka - who himself was a Raj Rishi and the sage Ashtavakra).
But this erudite technique demands a thorough examination of the human mind.
The ancient breathing and meditation technique of Vipassana is yet another method which enables an individual or a seeker to transmute or metamorphose the mind to the present moment. In the silence, an individual finds several answers to his botheration.
The Art of Living, through the Happiness Programme and the Advanced Meditation technique also attempts to quieten the mind. The fulcrum of both these programmes is the unique breathing technique of Sudarshan Kriya. The rhythmic breathing pattern when practised unfailingly purges the mind of avarice, passions, greed, jealousy and unfulfilled desires.
Pranayama, Yoga and Meditation are all steps to achieve the objective of culturing the mind and transforming it to the present moment. It enables to cultivate right attitude.
'Happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes', writes Hugh Dower.
Any individual, householder or a seeker needs to inculcate habits of equanimity, equilibrium and equipoise to remain calm, whatever be the circumstance or situation to be contended and remain in the present moment.
The protagonist who stayed back in Delhi could fulfil his dreams only partially. His son did qualify for the civil services. But could not join the service of his choice; this was due to excessive pressure applied by family members already in the elite services. Consequently he fell prey to alcoholism.
Perhaps it was because both father and son were not grateful to the Universe and did not adhere to the Law of Gratefulness. Thus lives were ruined. All plans and strategies go astray when we do not follow the universal commands - feeling abundance, feeling blessed and feeling grateful in life. These three attributes are the cornerstones in converting a recalcitrant mind to be in the present moment.
Meanwhile the friend who returned back home did not lose his way in the sands of time. He became a successful trade union leader and politician, taking one step at a time and living in the present.
'Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you are riding through the ruts don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't burry your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake up and live', sang Bob Marley.

Marijuana to be a Key Feature at Miley Cyrus's Wedding

LOS ANGELES: At singer Miley Cyrus's wedding to Liam Hemsworth, her love for marijuana will reportedly be a key feature so that everyone gets "high".
Cyrus has enlisted celebrity party planner Kevin Lee to help arrange the celebrations.
"Everyone knows Miley loves to throw an outrageous party and her wedding won't be any different. With weed being decriminalised in California, Miley wants some on every table, as well as a dessert buffet of marijuana edibles. She says her dream would be for everyone to get high together," a source told Heat magazine, reports femalefirst.

The 23-year-old singer is also planning a special hen party with her six dogs, who will also play a key role in the wedding celebrations.
"Her dogs are in the bridal party and Miley is even arranging a hen party at the pet spa together. She's specifically requested they are on the table plan for the reception too. They're having a special menu created for them," the source added.
The "Wrecking Ball" crooner has also enlisted French designer Simon Jacquemus to create a "series" of wedding dresses for her big day.
"Simon is going to help Miley create a series of quirky outfits. She says there will be five outfit changes throughout the day and pink will definitely be a running theme. Miley is so excited to marry Liam, she wants everything to be fun and perfect," the source said.
However, Hemsworth has yet to approve all his fiancee's extravagant plans for their big day here and post-wedding celebration in his native Australia.
"He's much more sensible than Miley, so he might want to veto a few of the ideas," the source added.

Soon, your gadgets could self-repair

Soon, your gadgets could self-repair

What if your computer could self-heal? A new study has found that with the help of nanomotors, electronics could be able to fix themselves.Scientists turned to the body's immune system for inspiration and have now built self-propelled nanomotors that can seek out and repair tiny scratches to electronic systems. They could one day lead to flexible batteries, electrodes, solar cells and other gadgets that heal themselves.
Researcher Jinxing Li from the University of California said that electronic circuits are very sophisticated these days, but a crack, even an extremely small one, can interrupt the flow of current and eventually lead to the failure of a device.

Iran launches ballistic missiles during military drill

Iran launches ballistic missiles during military drill

Missiles with range of 300-2,000km launched from silos in multiple locations in the country, Revolutionary Guards says.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has launched several medium-range and short-range ballistic missiles in recent days as part of a military exercise, according to the official IRNA news agency.
The missiles had a range of 300km to 2,000km, IRNA quoted General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC's aerospace division, as saying on Tuesday.
IRNA said the missiles, launched from silos in several locations across the country, demonstrated Iran's "deterrence power" and its readiness to confront threats.

Iran claims to already have surface-to-surface missiles with a range of 2,000km, capable of striking Israel and US military bases in the Middle East.
State TV ran on Tuesday what it called video footage of the operation, showing missiles in underground silos and flashes of light from night-time launches. State media said the exercise was in its final phase on Tuesday.
Rohollah Faghihi, a Tehran-based journalist who covers politics and foreign affairs, told Al Jazeera the latest drill was aimed at sending a "message to Iran's main enemies in the region".

'Appropriate response'

Responding to the reports of the test, a US official told Reuters news agency his government will seek an "appropriate response" at the UN Security Council.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the reported ballistic missile tests would not be considered a violation of the international nuclear deal with Iran, but there were "strong indications" the test would be inconsistent with a Security Council resolution.
"This development underscores why we continue to work closely with partners around the world to slow and degrade Iran's missile programme," the official said.
Iran accused of violating UN missile ban
The latest tests were called The Power of Velayat, a reference to the religious doctrine of Iran's leadership, IRNA said.
The development comes less than two weeks after elections in Iran delivered gains to politicians aligned with Hassan Rouhani, the country's moderate president.
The IRGC reports to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, not Rouhani, and its influence is considered to be far greater than those of the army and other armed forces.
In October, Iran successfully test-fired a new guided long-range ballistic surface-to-surface missile.
It was the first such test since Iran and world powers reached a nuclear deal last summer.
In January, the US imposed new sanctions on individuals and entities linked to the ballistic missile programme.
Iran says none of its missiles are designed to carry nuclear weapons.
